Granite and Quartzite are Backup Services’ primary exterior countertop materials because they are natural stone and can be evaluated for the actual exposure, slab characteristics, and installation conditions. Backup Services does not recommend engineered Quartz for exterior applications.

The decision between Granite and Quartzite comes down to appearance, slab availability, natural fissures, usable size, maintenance, fabrication risk, and budget. We guide selection from the actual slab whenever practical.

Outdoor countertop projects may include covered lanais, poolside serving areas, canal-home kitchens, grill islands, bars, and food-preparation surfaces across Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs, and Naples.

Exposure, drainage, ventilation, salt-air conditions, access, and the supporting structure vary by property. Those conditions are reviewed as part of the project rather than assuming every exterior installation is the same.

Grill, cooktop, sink, faucet, refrigerator, and accessory specifications should be available before template. Manufacturer clearances, ventilation, heat zones, cabinet construction, and access can affect the cutout and the surrounding stone.

Overhangs and unsupported spans are reviewed for appropriate support. Waterfall or end-panel details can be considered when the selected slab, base, exposure, and fabrication plan make them practical.

Natural stone varies in color, movement, fissures, thickness, and usable area. Slab selection should consider where high-movement sections, seams, cutouts, and adjoining pieces will land—especially around large appliance openings.

Granite and Quartzite should generally be resealed approximately every two years under Backup Services’ service approach. Cleaning and maintenance recommendations are matched to the specific stone and finish.

Template confirms the finished base, equipment openings, walls, posts, overhangs, seams, support, and access. Fabrication follows the approved slab layout, and installation includes final fit, seam work, setting, and inspection within the agreed stone scope.

Most standard projects move through fabrication and installation in approximately 3–5 business days after the slab is in Backup Services’ possession, subject to project complexity and site conditions.
